Terms & Conditions

By confirming a booking in writing for all domestic cleaning services provided by JJ Cleaning Services, the Client agrees to these T&Cs outlined below.

1. Booking Confirmation

A cleaning appointment is only considered confirmed once:

  • The date and time have been agreed in writing (email or WhatsApp), and
  • The Client has replied confirming the booking.

If written confirmation is not received, the time slot remains available to other clients. Once a booking is confirmed in writing, cancellation terms apply. Verbal agreements or informal discussions do not constitute confirmed bookings.

2. Scope of Services

Cleaning Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill and within a reasonable time allocated for each visit.

Tasks completed will depend on:

  • The duration booked.
  • The condition of the property.
  • Reasonable access to areas.

Unless agreed in writing, services do not include:

  • Mould remediation.
  • Biohazard or hazardous waste removal.
  • Heavy lifting of furniture.
  • Exterior window cleaning.
  • Pest removal.
  • Specialist stain removal.
  • Cleaning requiring specialist certification.

Additional tasks requested beyond the allocated time may incur charges.

3. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the property.
  • Ensure water and electricity are available.
  • Secure pets appropriately.
  • Inform the Service Provider of any hazards or delicate surfaces.
  • Secure valuables and sentimental items.

The Service Provider is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing damage.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Items not properly secured.

If access is not possible at the agreed time, the full-service fee remains payable.

4. Payment Terms

Payment is due on the day of the service.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment must be made on the day of the service.

Late payments more than 3 calendar days after the service date may result in suspension of future services.

Repeated late payment may result in termination of services.

Prices may be reviewed within 30 days’ written notice.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

5.1 Regular Weekly or Fortnightly Cleaning (Recurring Services)

Recurring services operate on a reserved repeating time slot.

The following cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 48 hours’ notice – No charge.
  • Between 48 and 24 hours’ notice – 50% of the agreed fee.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice – 100% of the agreed fee.
  • Same-day cancellation or no access – 100% of the agreed fee.

Cancellation must be provided in writing – by email or WhatsApp message.

Repeated short-term cancellations (more than three within three months) may result in review or termination of services.

5.2 One-offs and Deep Cleaning Services (Non-Recurring Bookings)

This section applies to one-off cleanings, end-of-tenancy cleans, and deep-cleaning services that are not part of a recurring schedule.

Because these services require dedicated time allocations, the following cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 72 hours’ notice – No charge.
  • Between 72 and 48 hours’ notice – 50% of the agreed fee.
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice – 100% of the agreed fee.

Where the deposit has been taken, it becomes non-refundable within 48 hours of the scheduled service.

6. Temporary Pause of Regular Services

A minimum of 2 weeks’ written notice is required to pause recurring services.

Original time slots are not guaranteed upon return unless the weekly fee continues to be paid during the pause period.

7. Key Holding & Security

Where keys or access codes are provided:

  • Keys will not be labelled with the Client’s address.
  • Reasonable care will be taken in safeguarding access details.

In the event of key loss due to negligence, liability is limited to the reasonable cost of lock replacement.

8. Insurance

The Service Provider maintains:

  • Public Liability Insurance (£1,000,000).
  • Employer’s Liability Insurance (£10,000,000).

Evidence of insurance is available upon request.

9. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to this, total liability arising out of or in connection with the services shall not exceed £1,000,000.

The Service Provider shall not be liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Items not secured.
  • Indirect or consequential loss.

10. Complaints

Any concerns must be raised within 24 hours of service.

The Service Provider must be given a reasonable opportunity to rectify any issues before any refund or compensation is considered.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate recurring services by providing 30 days’ written notice.

The Service Provider reserves the right to terminate services immediately in case of:

  • Repeated short-term cancellations.
  • Non-payment.
  • Persistent disputes over agreed terms.
  • Inappropriate or abusive behaviour.

12. Non-Solicitation

The Client agrees not to directly engage any cleaners introduced by the Service Provider for a period of 6 months following termination.

A £1,000 recruitment fee applies if breached.

13. Final Note

These Terms and Conditions are designed to:

  • Provide clarity.
  • Protect reserved time.
  • Prevent booking disputes.
  • Ensure fair treatment of all clients.
